Why we built Settily
Migration information for non-EU professionals is scattered, inconsistent, and often out of date — spread across embassy PDFs, forum threads, and blog posts that quietly go stale. We built Settily to fix that: a structured data layer that pulls from official government sources, labels what's verified and when, and is honest about what it can't confirm. Our deepest coverage right now is for moves to Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden, with the most detail for the corridors we've researched most thoroughly — including India-to-Europe — and we're expanding from there. We're not an immigration firm and we don't give legal advice. What we do is the research: read the official sources, structure them so they're comparable, keep them current, and show our work.
What Settily is (and isn't)
Settily is a community data platform. We collect real numbers from real migrants — what they earned, what they paid, what surprised them — and we put that data on the same pages as the structural information about visas, tax, banking, and housing.
It is
- ✓
Built from official sources — structured guides backed by government and public data
- ✓
Community-verified — anchored in real submissions, not theoretical scenarios
- ✓
Honest about what we don't know — gaps are marked, not papered over
It is NOT
- ✕
An immigration consultancy. We don't take fees to file your application.
- ✕
A law firm. Nothing on Settily is legal advice.
- ✕
A data broker. We do not sell individual user data, ever — not to consultancies, not to advertisers, not to anyone.
- ✕
An AI content site. We use AI for some scaffolding, but every claim is human-checked, every "what nobody tells you" line is human-written, and we'd rather have less content than fake content.
How we work
Five principles that shape what goes on the site:
- 1
Real numbers or no numbers. If we can't verify a figure against an official source or community submissions, we don't publish it.
- 2
Last-reviewed dates on every guide. You should know how fresh the information is.
- 3
Honest about gaps. Where we don't yet have community data, we say so — instead of inventing it.
- 4
Privacy first. Submissions are anonymous. We don't track individuals. We don't sell data.
- 5
No fake urgency. No "limited time offer" banners. No countdown timers. No fake testimonials.

If you've relocated and want to share your story to help build the data layer, the best way is through our share-your-data form — it takes about 5 minutes and your submission goes directly into the community data that powers the site.
Settily is independently owned and operated. We're not affiliated with any government, immigration consultancy, or law firm.
